Food festivals are everywhere in Devon. They range from local events featuring independent food producers to full size festivals with celebrity chefs, master classes, trade stalls, fun fairs as well as great pop acts with evening music for entertainment.
This post focuses on some of the popular Devon food festivals ideal for a lovely foodie days out.
Fantastic Devon Festivals – Food, Drink and More Food
There are fantastic food festivals across the county where you can enjoy sampling everything from sausages to gin, to street food and artisan coffee. These foodie lovers heaven make a lovely day out and often have some great music entertainment as well.
Exmouth Gate to Plate Food Festival
Sunday 19 April from 10-4pm.
Head along to The Strand for a delicious day out celebrating and showcasing the amazing local food growers, producers and creatives.
Plymouth Flavour Fest
Friday 29th May – Sunday 31st June 2026
This festival is returning for four days of food and drink-fuelled family fun. There will be over 120 stalls of fantastic local produce on the Piazza. Watch inspirational talks and demonstrations by top local chefs and plenty more entertainment throughout the weekend.
Expect tasty traders, market stalls, live music and evening entertainment.
Gate to Plate – Axminster
Monday 25th May from 10-4pm
Returning to Axminster is the Gate to Plate food festival this Bank Holiday . Free to attend food and drink market showcasing over 70 local food and drink makers including local bakers, farmers, brewers, orchardists, roasters and Street Food.

A delicious day out on The Strand which will be absolutely chock full of fabulous eats and drinks. A great way to get to know local growers, makers, creatives and producers and celebrate food and culture from the beautiful and productive lands of South Devon.
There will be over 60 stalls: Farmers market and deli favourites, brewers, bakers, street foods and treat foods, together with fine crafts and community groups, cafe and bars; always with a wide range of choice, including gluten free, vegan, vegetarian and alcohol free food and drinks.
Exmouth Festival
Exmouth Festival 9th – 12st July 2026
A free community festival of live music, film, theatre, circus, art with the addition of some of the best food and drink Devon has to offer.

Kingsbridge Food and Music Festival

Love Local Food Festival
Exeter Castle 15th August 10am – 6pm 2026
Set in the heart of the city, the festival promises a day filled with delicious local food, live entertainment and family fun, all designed to champion the incredible growers, producers and makers that make Devon a culinary powerhouse.
The festival is free to enter, with no tickets required. Grab your friends, family and four-legged companions and join us for what’s set to be an incredible day of food, drink and live music!

Bovey tracey Food, driink & Craft festival
5th September 2026
Set in the heart of Bovey Tracey on the edge of Dartmoor. A day of events designed to feed the body, the mind and the senses, filling the town with some of the best producers of food, drink and craft from the south west on Saturday September 5th.
Enjoy delicious local produce, discover unique handcrafted goods, and immerse yourself in Devon’s vibrant community of artisans and producers.

Taste East Devon – Food & Drink Festival
12th – 20th September 2026
Ease into autumn with Taste East Devon, with a lovely range of events over 9 days, there’s something for all the family.
Across the region, award-winning venues, producers, chefs and restaurants join forces to celebrate the incredible food and drink on offer across the region. Including the well known chef Michael Caines MBE, events at River Cottage, Darts Farm and Lyme Bay Winery. East Devon has been home to, and inspired generations of farmers and artisan producers for centuries and remains the perfect destination for all food lovers.
Taste East Devon is a festival that not only highlights fantastic local producers but also invites people to engage with the stories behind the food, getting a real flavour of what makes East Devon so unique and at the same time to discover the warmth and hospitality of the local community.

Ottery Food Fest

Community-organised and driven by a passion of local food and talent, this event shares wonderful local producers, products and chefs set in the heart of the Devon countryside in Ottery St Mary. More details here
Abbfest
18 – 20th September 2026
Abbfest is set in Newton Abbot and is a volunteer run, charity festival that raises money for local charities and organisations. Head to the town for wonderful weekend full of live music, locally produced beer & cider, chef demonstrations and a food & craft market full of local artisan producers. More details and tickets here.
Powderham Castle Food Festival
3rd & 4th October 2026
In the autumn the Powderham Food Festival October. A stunning location with stalls set up in and around the castle. You can watch cookery demonstrations, try hands on workshops (book in advance or as soon as you arrive). There will be over 130 traders cooking up a storm or selling their gourmet delights.
While you wander buy a delicious lunch and relax with some local cider or a Devon gin and tonic. Your ticket (£5.50) includes entry to the castle, gardens with entertainment for all ages. Under 16s go free. Dogs on leads welcome. Free parking included.
Dartmouth Food Festival
23rd – 25th October 2026
Celebrating for over 20 years enjoy this fabulous mix of celebrity chefs, parties, food markets, tasting shacks and workshops and over 100 hand-picked exhibitors held across Dartmouth. Check for more details nearer the time and to book events here.
