There are some beautiful sunflower fields in Devon and Dorset in 2026, with everything from sunflower trails and photo opportunities to proper pick your own sunflower fields.

I’ve put together some of the best places to see sunflowers in Devon and Dorset this summer. Some are free to visit, while others charge an entrance fee or ask for a donation. Several also have cafés, farm shops, play areas or other things to do, making them ideal for a family day out.

Sunflowers are very weather dependent, so opening dates can change and the fields may close once the flowers have passed their best. Always check the farm’s website or social media before setting off, and check whether you need to book.

Sunflower Fields in Devon 2026

Valley View, Loddiswell

Valley View is a family-run café and farm shop in the South Hams, near Kingsbridge, where you can enjoy the sunflower fields alongside beautiful wildflower meadows.

The pick your own sunflowers are available for a donation, with money going towards the RNLI.

It’s a lovely option if you are looking for somewhere to combine a wander through the flowers with something to eat. The café is large and popular, so you could easily make this part of a longer day out exploring the South Hams. Check for opening days.

Darts Farm, Topsham

Darts Farm near Topsham is one of the best-known places in East Devon for pick your own sunflowers.

The annual sunflower event raises money for Hospiscare, and visitors can pick their own flowers to take home. You collect secateurs from the gazebo, head into the field and then make a donation for the flowers you have picked.

Darts Farm is also a great place to visit if you want to make more of a day of it. There is a large farm shop, several places to eat and the farm walk and wetlands to explore.

The sunflower opening date varies according to the weather and growing conditions, so check before travelling for the confirmed 2026 dates.

Strawberry Fields, Lifton

If you are travelling towards Cornwall, Strawberry Fields at Lifton is well worth knowing about.

This popular family farm and farm shop, just off the A30 on the Devon/Cornwall border, is known for its seasonal events and beautiful flower displays. Depending on the time of year you can find everything from tulips and strawberries to sunflowers and pumpkins.

The PYO sunflowers have returned for summer 2026, with the flowers also providing some lovely photo opportunities.

There is plenty more to do here too, including the farm shop, café and other seasonal PYO activities – book ahead for strawberry picking. This is a good place to combine with a trip towards Cornwall, but it is also only around 35 minutes from Exeter.

Springfield Farm, North Devon

Springfield Farm is a working family farm near Barnstaple that has diversified into a lovely visitor attraction.

The sunflower fields and wildflower meadows make a colourful summer day out, with plenty of opportunities for photographs. There are also sunset events, which could be particularly lovely when the evening light catches the flowers.

If you are visiting with children, there is also a Children’s Playbarn and barista café, making this more than simply a quick visit to a sunflower field.

Tickets are available online and popular dates can sell out, so check the current dates and book ahead Wednesday to Sunday.

Sunflower Fields in Dorset 2026

Dorset has some fantastic sunflower fields too, including sunflower trails, PYO fields and farms where you can combine your visit with cafés and other activities.

Dorset Sunflower Trail, Maiden Castle

The Dorset Sunflower Trail at Maiden Castle is one of the most spectacular sunflower displays in Dorset.

With hundreds of thousands of sunflower seeds sown for 2026, the field makes a fantastic summer photo opportunity. This is a sunflower trail rather than a traditional pick-your-own field, although flowers (£1 per stem) and sunflower-themed goodies are available to buy.

The event is raising money for the Dorset County Hospital Emergency and Critical Care Unit, with part of the ticket income donated to the hospital.

The 2026 opening is currently expected to be for around three weeks from the end of July, although this is weather dependent, so check before travelling.

Coppet Hill Sunflower Saunter, near Bridport

If you fancy a sunflower walk with a view, Coppet Hill is a lovely choice.

The Sunflower Saunter takes you on a winding route through the sunflower field, with views across the Marshwood Vale. There is also a dedicated PYO sunflower area, so you can pick some flowers to take home.

The farm has a tea room serving homemade cakes, ice cream, hot and cold drinks and light lunches, so you can easily make this into a relaxed summer outing.

There are also nature trails around the farm, and if you really don’t want to leave, there is camping and glamping available too!

North Farm Sunflowers, Wimborne

North Farm near Wimborne has a large sunflower field where you can enjoy a walk through the flowers and pick your own sunflowers to take home.

Entry is free and you simply pay for the flowers you cut, making this one of the more budget-friendly sunflower days out in Dorset.

There are often visiting food and drink vans, particularly at weekends, with ice cream, cakes, drinks and pizza available. You can also bring your own picnic.

Sunflowers at Blandford – Littleton Farm

Littleton Farm has a sunflower field and wild flower meadow near Blandford where you can enjoy a walk through the flowers and pick your own sunflowers.

There is free entry, and in 2026 there is also a coffee pod serving drinks, cakes and ice creams. There is a small children’s play area too, making this a good option for families.

The farm also hosts special late-night events during the sunflower season, including pizza, drinks and live music on selected dates.

Sopley Farm, Christchurch

Sopley Farm near Christchurch is another Dorset option for pick your own sunflowers.

The farm also grows other PYO flowers and fruit, so there is plenty to look out for depending on the season. You can also visit the farm shop and bakery for something to eat or take home.

Gullivers Farm Shop in West Moors has a pick your own sunflower field where you can wander through the flowers and choose your own blooms to take home.

Tips for visiting a sunflower field
