Family Day Out in Devon at The Big Sheep
Devon is lucky enough to have a huge variety of great days out and we recently visited one of these for the first time. If you are in the North Devon area then The Big Sheep family attraction is well worth a trip. I am pretty sure that if we were closer this would have been a firm favourite.
We didn’t get to see and do everything, partly due to the obsessive goat cuddling, but here was what we loved.
5 Things We Loved at The Big Sheep in North Devon
Bouncing on the giant inflatable pillows.
All kids seem to love bouncing, the big pillows were lots of fun.
Petting the goats
Given the chance the girls would have smuggled a goat out of The Big Sheep. They were wandering around the indoor area as they kept jumping out of their enclosure.
Extremely cute, a large part of the girls day was spent cuddling the little goats. There were also lambs to bottle feed as well as llamas in the animal barn.
The Roller Coaster
A family style roller coaster, this was even calm enough for me. Of course the girls went round a lot more times!
The swing carousel twister
Release your inner Mary Poppins as you fly round on the twister – another favourite for all ages, a real stomach churner!
Swan Lake Pedalos
Relaxing in a giant swan around the lake, calm and peaceful. Now that is more my kind of ride!

Other Things to See and Do at the Big Sheep
– Ride the Farm Safari Train – perfect for younger visitors
– Laser tag – battle field live combat games. Race around the woods and hunt out the opposition ( I can’t believe we ran out of time for that)
– Watch the sheep dog trails and sheep shearing show
– Learn about different breeds of sheep at the entertaining sheep parade
– Enjoy the indoor play area and soft play zone
– Feed the lambs and Pets Corner
– Watch the Sheep Racing (we had to leave before that started)
– Eat cake !
What a lovely family friendly attraction. There certainly were plenty of sheep to see, as well as llamas, goats ponies and ducks. Great for the animal lovers.
On the day we visited the sun was shining, it was not too busy so there were no queues for the rides, just perfect. The girls went round on the roller coaster quite few times on their own (1.2 metres and over 7 years old can ride without an adult).
If you are looking for a relaxed day out then this could be perfect for you. Take a look at the little video to get a better idea of what’s on offer. We didn’t get to see everything (too busy cuddling goats) but it’s a pretty good summary.
