Honiton Show The Honiton & District
The Honiton & District Agricultural Association – “Where Farming Comes First” The show is annually held on the first Thursday in August and has grown to be one of the largest one day agricultural shows in the country.
The show is held in the heart of the East Devon Countryside on a 140 acre site which was purchased by the Honiton & District Agricultural Association in 2003. The show has a unique atmosphere blending traditional and new where its emphasis is agriculture and its associated activities first and foremost.
It is a showcase for the best of local farming, produce, crafts and rural skills.

The Otter Vale Art Society is holding it’s annual exhibition this August – stunning work by very talented local artists, some of which is for sale.

Lyme Regis Carnival Regatta is a week of events in Lyme Regis from Saturday 5th August to Sunday 13th August

Heritage Duck Regatta in Dalwood Join
Heritage Duck Regatta in Dalwood
Join in for an afternoon of duck racing on the River Corrie at Dalwood for the first ever Heritage Duck Regatta. We hope more than 600 ducks will be swimming; no cruelty involved!
Race starts at 2.00 pm – with cash prizes and a raffle in aid of Axminster Heritage funds.
Follow and cheer on your ducks along the river bank.
Ducks £1 each from the Dalwood Community Shop, the Tucker’s Arms, Dalwood, the Axminster Heritage Centre or from any of our committee members.
Cream teas will be served in Dalwood Village Hall, with the Tuckers Arms open over lunchtime.
There’s ample car-parking in Dalwood but you may like to take advantage of the special Sewards coach leaving Axminster Market Square at 1.00pm returning from Dalwood at 4.40 pm. Places on this are limited and so must be booked in advance at Axminster Heritage Centre.

Southleigh Fayre is a traditional country fayre in the heart of East Devon
A traditional country fayre set in a picturesque village.
There is a main ring, with displays of Duck herding, old tractors, Axe Vale Hunt, Tug O War, sheep racing and other delightful demonstrations.
Around the perimeter are many stalls with home made or produced items.
Also meet the Fire brigade and the Devon Freewheelers, plus either demonstations displaying their abilities and attributes.
Band playing in between main ring events too.
There is a tea and beer tent combined, selling cakes and teas or beer etc.
Officially from 2-5pm but goes on if people want it or weather permits.
There is ample parking and steward directed.

Red Arrows Lyme Regis Summer Display 2017 – The Red Arrows are one of the highlights of the Lyme Regis summer calendar. They are back again (weather permitting) on 10th August with their fantastic display over the bay.
Be sure to arrive in good time as this is always a very popular event and car parks fill up early. Why not make a day of it as there will be events on throughout the day as part of Lyme Regis Carnival and Regatta Week.

Buckham Fair A fabulous country fair
A fabulous country fair nr Beaminster in West Dorset organised by Martin Clunes:
“an old-fashioned type Fair, perfect for all the community to have fun and also raise money for local charities. In fact we have since found out that there is an Ancient Charter that allows the holder of the land to hold a Fair each year – even more perfect!
Perfect for horse and dog lovers as the show include a small pony and dog show. The classes in both have grown year on year and now the schedule is packed full with many and varied events including Police Dog Displays, Heavy Horse Displays, Vintage Cars and Scooters.
Over the years the fun fair has grown bigger and better – amongst other rides you can go on a Big Wheel, Dodgems, a Carousel and a Helter Skelter.
The Trade Stands have also become a large part of the attraction selling mainly local products and the Food Court has grown to include an Inside tented ‘Deli’ area.”

This summer the outdoor art outdoor exhibition and market returns to Seaton, it takes place on Sundays over the summer months in Jubilee Gardens just off Seaton seafront in East Devon.
It showcases the work of local artists from Devon, Dorset and Somerset.

Enjoy an open air theatre production of the children’s book “The Smartest Giant in Town” in the lovely setting of Burrow Farm Gardens
Returning for the second year in a row due to popular demand this show is written by Julia Donaldson author of The Gruffalo .

The Melplash Show Agricultural Event
The Melplash Show Agricultural Events is a fantastic agricultural exhibition, held at The West Bay Show grounds, Bridport, Dorset on the last Thursday before the August Bank holiday.
The 2017 show will be held on Thursday 24th August and there really will be something for everyone. The show is packed full of exhibits including livestock, horses, home crafts and horticulture as well as demonstrations, entertainment and a Discover Farming marquee
There are lots of competitions for the public to enter, everything from livestock to flowers, cakes to sausages.
With over 350 trade stands selling everything from locally produced food to tractors….and plenty in between there is a lot to see during the day!
Tickets Adult £14 advance online or £16 on the gate
Children aged 16 and under are Free
Dogs allowed on leads

Running over the August Bank Holiday Weekend, River Cottage Festival 2017 this is a chance to enjoy all things River Cottage as well as music and the option to camp if you want to completely immerse yourself in the event.
It’s family friendly weekend with activities for kids as well foraging, dancing, yoga classes, music and of course food!
There’ll be demonstrations from well-known chefs, inspirational speakers, masterclasses to take part in, tasty street food to sample as well as River Cottage chefs preparing the best seasonal food for you to enjoy.
You can choose if you come for the day, the evening or the whole weekend – there are different ticket options to suit everyone and under 16s come for free!

Honiton Hill Rally
Running for over 40 years and is an amazing collection of steam engines, tractors, cars, military vehicles and more.
If all that is not your thing then head along for the rural crafts, working horses and masses of trade stalls.
Honiton Hill Rally has moved to Smeatharpe Airfield – this is great news if you have ever experienced the rally at it’s old site when its been raining!!
